Camping and Parking
Quite RV Area
There is a quite RV area for campers with kids and it is located in the southern part of the campsite, remote from stages and loud music. It is best for someone who wants to get a good night's sleep with their family in an RV. The RV Hookups are limited so make sure to register ahead of time!
Lake side cabin area
A bit closer to the hotel, but still in a quite kids zone, there is an area where you can rent a cozy lakeside cabin (more info is here https://stocolakelodge.com/book-accomodations-1) or just set out to camp with your tent.
MAIN STAGE AND SURROUNDING AREA
There is NO CAMPING or Parking by the main stage or the road around the activities field. Typically not a good spot to camp, because of the late concerts, and early activities in the morning.
Jenny Kash site
East of the hotel there is a large site where only registered theme campers can camp. If you are not registered to an approved theme camp, you will not be permitted to set up any kind of camp on the Jenny Kash site. All spaces are designated to registered theme camps only.
Upper parking and camping
If you want to camp where the night action is, this next area is for you! Turn right at the big stone at the end of the entrance way and you will see several camps and an outdoor stage and some RV parking spots. There are even more camping spots if you keep going along the road. Make sure the spots are not claimed by large groups!
I don't want to camp on site, where can I go?
There are some AirBnBs and a couple of hotels in the area. But camping is really the best way to make the most out of ZHARA! You may also request an RV site by emailing us. The sites are first-come, first-serve, and the ones with hookup go fast. See “Can I bring my RV?” below for more information.
Can I bring my RV?
Yes you can. RV sites must be reserved in advance with us by email info@barsuk.ca . Limited sites are available for Full Hook-up and Dry set up. Both must be assigned ahead of time by the campground.
Can I bring a full size van or mini bus?
Yes to both, however you will be asked to park it in the General Parking area. Even if you are planning to sleep in your vehicle, no cars, vans, busses or RVs are allowed at the campsites. Don't worry, the General Parking area is just a few steps away.
Amplified Music & Instruments
ZHARA is committed to creating a peaceful and respectful environment for all attendees. As part of this commitment, amplified music, including the use of speakers or loud PAs is not permitted in any camping area. But “unplugged” is always welcome. Attendees are welcome to bring and play instruments at their campsites, but the volume must be kept at a reasonable level and must not disturb other attendees. We ask all attendees to respect this policy and to be considerate of their neighbors when enjoying music at their campsites. Anyone found to be playing amplified music at their campsite may be asked to lower the volume or turn off the music, and repeated violations may result in removal from the event.
Accessiblity (Camping)
If you need special arrangements, please contact us at info@barsuk.ca at least 2 weeks prior to the festival and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can I drive my car around the festival?
ZHARA is committed to creating a safe and sustainable event for all attendees. As part of this commitment, we have a no driving policy for the duration of the festival. Attendees are not allowed to drive their personal vehicles on the festival grounds after they have parked. This includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, and any other motorized vehicles. The only exception to this policy is for authorized emergency vehicles, staff vehicles, and vehicles with festival designated disability placards. Driving a car on site after it has been parked, unless it is to exit the festival, is not allowed. Failure to comply with this rule may result in removal from the campground. We encourage attendees to use alternative forms of transportation to get around the festival – such as bicycles. The speed limit at the campground is 10 km/h and it is strictly enforced. Please follow the instructions of the regulating staff at the parking lots, and be considerate of your camping neighbors!
Towing Cars
Please comply with the parking rules, instructions from parking attendants, and signage. If your car is blocking traffic or is interfering with the Festival’s function, we reserve the right to have it towed at the owner’s expense. Make sure to only park in clearly designated parking areas. If your car is towed, speak with festival staff at the Gates about retrieval.
